Atomic Infamous: Mt. Hood

This past July, Atomic Skis' Infamous Squad gathered at Mt. Hood for a week of photo and video shooting, and I was invited to contribute my behind-the-lens skills for the occasion. The crew was stacked: skier-philosopher and style guru Nicky Keefer; Level 1 Productions Superunknown contest winner Mitchell Brower; Swedish wunderkind Lucas Stål-Madison; Nick Meilleur and SoulRyders' Jacob Callaghan on video; me and Darcy Bacha on photo; and Atomic freeski team manager Dominic "Gentile" Tritscher, visiting from Austria. Atomic pro Tim Durtschi also stopped by to join in on the fun. Our...

Everyone Wins at the B&E Inventational

The first-ever B&E Inventational, a collaborative effort between Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, Raf Regazzoni, Eric Iberg and Les Arcs, France went down this April and I was lucky to be on hand. B-Dog and E-Dollo invited some of the styliest riders around the planet including legends like Liam Downey and Dave Crichton to ski their one-of-a-kind course. Here are some photos, and an article I wrote for ESPN: http://xgames.espn.go.com/skiing/article/10743279/torin-yater-wallace-wins-first-inventational Candide Thovex and Ahmet Dadali, influences from different continents and generations, ready...

Flippin’ the Script in Slovenia

Flippin’ the Script in Slovenia

After the craziness of the Olympics in Sochi I thought it would be great to do a fun photo trip somewhere in Europe. My friend Kevin Perron of Treefort Lifestyles mentioned to me that he would be heading to Slovenia with Ahmet Dadali for his "Flip The Script" project, and their travel dates happened to line up perfectly with mine. Their crew was willing to bring me on board, so a few days after getting back to Munich from Sochi I jumped on a bus for Ljubjana. For the past week or so we've been hitting up some urban features up in northwestern Slovenia, close to the Austrian and Italian borders,...

B-Dog & E-Dollo Full Tilt poster

B-Dog & E-Dollo Full Tilt poster

Earlier this summer I got the chance to work with Phil Casabon, Henrik Harlaut and the rest of an Inspired Media crew here at Mt. Hood on some backcountry jumps, and Full Tilt snagged two shots of B&E for a poster advertising their new pro-model boots. The shot of Phil is clipped from a hip jump in the "Hip City" zone near Timberline and I think the trick is a switch 5. The shot of Henrik is from a step-over jump about a week later, and the trick is an absolutely filthy switch cork 7. Henrik made it rain on this jump! Check for the poster in your local shop that carries Full Tilt,...

Newschoolers Photos of the Day

  • August 22, 2013

A few weeks ago I uploaded some photos onto Newschoolers.com that ended up being their "Photo of the Day" for three out of four days — not a bad streak! The first POTD on August 5 was this shot of Mike Briggs from a snow camping trip to Mississippi Head, a huge cliff on the west side of the mountain. We traversed west from Palmer to a snow feature on top of the cliff that I had scoped out a few days earlier, and built a hip jump and a nice little campsite complete with a sheltered fire pit. I had hoped to capture some amazing sunset shots but unfortunately our jump location didn't allow...

2 Photos published in EPIC Colorado mag, fall 2012

  • January 7, 2013

The magazine EPIC Colorado picked up a few of my photos for its Fall 2012 issue. Scope Keri Herman's switch cork 5 from the 2011 Nine Queens in her feature profile, and the sequence of John Spriggs in the photo section. Glad to be working with a cool regional magazine focusing on the mile-high state. Make sure  to check 'em out at epic-mag.com where they've got the full magazine online for free.
